Breastfeeding

So you are having a child and you plan on breastfeeding.  Seems a simple decision right?  Take it from one breastfeeding mother to another, the decision may be an easy one, but in practical application it isn't as straight forward.  That is not to say you can't be successful.  I went back to work full time after my son was 3 months old and we continued breastfeeding until he self-weaned at 14 months.  But in the beginning it was a struggle to get into the rhythm of breastfeeding.  And during some of those growth spurts where he was nursing every few hours for days on end, I wasn't sure I was going to make it.  But in the end I wouldn't trade the experience of being a breastfeeding mother for anything.  I think my success was due in part to being well read on the subject, in part to the superb support I had from my husband and medical professionals and also from sheer determination.  I hope to provide you with some links to information in order to assist you with your adventures in breastfeeding.  Good luck!
